  • DAY 98 – VEGETABLE PEELER

Carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, zucchini…. This IKEA peeler is the BEST vegetable peeler in my opinion. Not much to look at but I’m grasping for things as this is day 98. Still a lot of drawing material to be had in kitchen…. the utensil drawer is a treasure trove.

  • Day 97 – MILK

This is a half gallon of 2% milk. I started to draw it yesterday and then finished it this morning and discovered that the milk level had gone down a few inches over the past 14 hours. I’ve also been questioning the purpose of the circular indent on the side? There has to be some sort of reason… think on that.

  • Day 96 – FRENCHIE STATUE

We have a French bulldog so when I saw this concrete garden statue, I had to buy it. It sits on our patio and keeps watch over the backyard and looks strikingly similar to our real dog, who has zero interest in it. The power washer took off an ear but a little Gorilla Glue fixed that problem. Now it anxiously awaits a pot of pansies to keep it company.

  • Day 95 – METRONOME

With two musicians in the house, this metronome gets some use. I wish we had one of the old school ones that looked like a brass upside down pendulum but now they have this… which I suppose is retro considering you can have a metronome app on your phone. Andante, Allegro, Presto, Largo, Adagio! Sounds like fancy pasta sauce.

  • Day 94 – SPONGE

I use this thing probably a dozen times a day. This is the sponge I use for dishwashing. I like the Scotch-Brite brand as they have a rough scour pad side and a more gentle sponge side. This particular one is blue. To get the texture, I made some darker spots, lightly colored the whole surface and then drew circles all over the top with a sharp tip.

  • Day 93 – PILEA

This is probably my favorite plant. I bought a Pilea plant at Home Depot maybe 5 years ago. It sprouted little babies and I would cut them out, root them in tiny vases of water and replant them in soil. I have probably propagated over 80 plants so far and the “mother plant” is still around. Some are tall with sparse leaves as they are in an area of the house with less sun. Others are bushy and over 18 inches tall with stakes to support their weight. I’ve given them to neighbors, friends, family and even the school PTA who gifted them to teachers.

  • Day 92 – UMBRELLA

Spring is the season for weather whiplash. In the past week we have experienced wind, snow flurries, rain, humidity, thunderstorms, 40 degrees and 70 degrees. So this trusty device, that was propped in the corner, became the drawing for today. The dog refuses to go outside in the rain so I must accompany her in the backyard with an umbrella to keep HER dry while she does her business.

  • Day 91 – FITBIT

This is my Fitbit Versa watch. I drew this yesterday while sitting on some very uncomfortable gym bleachers as my daughter had a volleyball lesson so it’s not my best. I’m still using the tiny pencil nubs too so I have many excuses for this one. At the time of drawing, heart rate was 73 and it was 4:57. Sleep score from previous night was 75, also not my best.

  • Day 90 – THROW PILLOW

I’m not gonna lie… this one might be my favorite. I was sitting on the couch with the dog and she was SO comfortable so I stayed and drew the throw pillow. I love these pillows. They are from Ferm Living and they are army green color with three cobalt blue stripes. It’s such an odd color combination but it works.
