  • Day 80 – BASEBALL CAP

I used to love wearing baseball caps but then when glasses became a 24/7 necessity, it became too much. The brim would hit the top of my glasses, there was too much going on behind my ears. A mess. But if I were to wear a hat, I would choose this one. My dad was gifted this hat by his landscaper friend. The color is a perfect hunter green and the logo is a yellow leaf bare tree.

  • Day 79 – LIGHT BULB

This is an LED bulb but thankfully it still looks like an old incandescent. In my opinion, you just cannot duplicate that incandescent light and I miss it. The warm LED bulbs are close but will never be the same. Oh wow…side note… (my computer monitor is in front of a big window)… I just witnessed a hawk attack a crow in midair. Makes my light bulb rant seem inconsequential.

  • Day 78 – MOUSE

Happy first day of spring… it snowed last night and I just shoveled the driveway. Grrr. What better way to celebrate the day than feature a computer mouse! This is my husband’s mouse from his home office. I have an old corded Apple mouse with a tiny roller ball that doesn’t work but I still love it.

  • Day 77 – CALCULATOR

This one was HARD to draw. You would think a series of three dimensional rounded corner squares would be easy but the spacing was insane. I tried at first drawing this from an angle to capture the tilted display screen but that was beyond my abilities and I just drew it straight on. Still tricky. And in real life the calculator is bright orange. I tried.

  • Day 76 – DRILL BIT

This here is an 11/32″ drill bit. This bit is only used once a year…. it creates a hole in the bottom of our fresh cut Christmas tree so it fits nicely on the spike in the tree stand. A pilot hole if you will. The Yule Bit. HA!

  • Day 75 – GRAVY BOAT

What a genius name for a vessel to hold fatty, salty, rich and thick liquid goodness. A boat. This boat is usually in service only once or twice a year and it’s contents have been referred to as liquid gold. Our gravy is a beef tenderloin sauce that is made from the pan dripping of the roasted beef along with butter, beef broth, balsamic vinegar, shallots and mustard. Divine.

  • Day 74 – DAFFODIL

Yep. It’s snowing. The hope for Spring is delayed for a day. But I did get some daffodils at the grocery store that have brightened up the family room. I still don’t understand how you can buy daffodils, not in water, just rubber banded together in a dry clump… and then after a fresh trim and a vase of water they burst open. Incredible.

  • Day 73 – PRUNER

Well the weather has turned and I have a hankering to prune! This beauty is my Fiskars pruner and has been through a lot of woody stems. But I must resist the urge because it may still be too early. I put the snow pants away for the winter so expect 6 inches next week.

  • Day 72 – TOOTHBRUSH

I had a dentist appointment this week and despite my SEVERE nasal congestion, because I didn’t have a fever they would not let me cancel without paying $75. So I suffered through a cleaning without breathing through my nose and then they ask if I want a free toothbrush. Yes, I want the damn toothbrush. And here it is….
